Lorena Rukstelis Spiller ~ Carmichael, CA Yes, it's true ! I am Mary Alice's Aunt ! My children are her first cousins. What was I thinking ? Desperate measures - marrying ones best friend's uncle to secure "best friend" status for life. But secure it is . We have been best of friends since 7th grade at Jamul Las Flores Elementary School and all the ensuing years.
I have been blessed with three handsome & talented sons.
Jeremy - B.S. Mechanical Engineering , UC Santa Barbara. He is the Assistant Manager of Productivity Planning for NUMMI ( New United Motors which is a union of GM & Toyota operating a state of the art production line of 1400 cars and trucks daily in Fremont , Ca.). NUMMI follows the Japanese operating principle of "Kaizen" which is "continuous improvement" . Guess most of us could use a little "Kaizen" in our own lives. (Does this qualify as a "Wise-Bit"?). Jeremy is also an accomplished and avid Snow Skier. I try to keep up.
Jonas - B.A. Fine Arts, UCLA . Artistic & talented, extremely social & enjoys a wide circle of friends, water polo, crew, lacrosse, & snow skiing. I try to keep up. He is currently my "starving " actor. His first big movie has just been released in Britain. An independent film, British director, noteworthy showing at Edinburough Film Festival. - will hopefully be released in US soon. Jonas has the lead part as Mark David Chapman in "The Killing of John Lennon".
David - currently a freshman at Claremont Mckenna College . Athletic - plays football and baseball for Claremont. Plays cornerback - Had 1 interception with a 50 yard return! Baseball is just starting, plays left field and manages to steal a few bases each year. Hopefully he is studying harder this semester than last so he can continue to play two sports and some day graduate from this fine college and have a future of his choice. David also skis and as usual I try to keep up.
As for me, San Diego State - Math Major Sacramento State - B.A. in Biological Sciences with minors in Math & Chemistry University of the Pacific - Doctor of Pharmacy Pharmacy Management 1981 to 2006 I have recently stepped down to staff RPH as a pre-retirement move to regain my sanity and have time to ski. As you have guessed , I love to ski and snorkel & travel (we were in Tuscany for a month with friends and celebrated David's 16th birthday with a day in Florence to see Michaelangelo's "David" ). Have not had time to be lonely in my "empty nest " as I am busy repairing, cleaning, and remodeling my "nest" after 33 years of my three sons and all of their friends. Guess, I won't have much left to say at the reunion, but I am a good listener. Looking forward to seeing Monarchs.
